Cardiac MRI is a very safe and pain-free procedure. The risks associated with a cardiac MRI are very rare and negligible. These risks pertain to the dye that is used.
There is a minimal risk of an allergic reaction, and even rarer is a specific adverse effect associated with the kidneys.
Lastly, cardiac MRI is not for everyone. If you are extremely claustrophobic, it is very important that you let your doctor know before a referral is made.
