Does cardiac CT (CT angiogram) hurt?

Consultant Cardiologist Joban Sehmi discusses whether there is any pain involved in cardiac CT.

Cardiac CT is not a painful experience.

Some patients are claustrophobic, but the size of the scanner is quite large, and this is not usually an issue. The only sort of adverse effect some patients may describe is when the dye is administered, you may have a sensation of passing urine, but that’s quite normal.
